Mercato in DIFC

There are lots of new restaurants opening in Dubai and it gets ever more difficult when it comes to deciding where to go. Over the weekend we decided to visit Mercato in DIFC to try out their brunch, which is on every Friday and Saturday from 9am to 6pm. As we walked up towards the restaurant we noticed the cute windows and the chairs outside it was inviting. The d├ęcor is unique and very Italian, we couldn’t stop taking photos even of the floor tiles (you can get the perfect shoe selfie here). The brunch menu looked impressive and we couldn't wait to order. We noticed that Mercato make their own pastas, pizzas, and pastries so everything is completely fresh when served. To start with we got to try Mercato’s famous Italian traditional pizza, which wasn’t your usual cheesy round pizza that you can get from any pizza place, the taste was just unreal! The dough was baked to perfection it literally was so fresh and crispy and the amazingly fresh toppings went so well together it just made us love it even more. We highly recommend you try this when you visit.

Inside the restaurant you will notice their counter of pastries and desserts which is a lot to take in because it all looks so delicious. Before we go to restaurants we always check restaurant hashtags and social media pages this way we can see what we might choose before heading there and we knew straight away that we would want to try out their Nutella pancakes and Nutella donuts. And yes it was just as good as the pictures, so fresh and soft with Nutella running through both the pancake and the donuts.

After this we chose a breakfast dish Kate had the ‘Healthy breakfast’ the eggs benedict with salmon, spinach and salad, we did take the spinach off but for us this tasted just as good and how we liked it. Jen had chosen one of the scrambled eggs, toast, cherry tomatoes with a delicious portobello mushroom. One of the best breakfasts we have had in a long time, everything on those plates tasted terrific.
Our next course we tried their round pizza which to our surprise it was a lot different than their traditional one but it still was delectable and fresh, but like we mentioned above we highly recommend you try their traditional Italian square pizza.

Can you imagine we actually had room for dessert after all this, we were so happy we did because we were staring at the desserts for so long while eating and we really wanted to try them. We were told to give the fruit tart and a coconut sponge cake a try and they were both outstanding. This was a perfect dish to end what was an amazing brunch, they also have a collection of teas and of course we chose the English breakfast tea.
We received good service from the staff they were all helpful and kind, and always around if we wanted anything. Our entire experience was phenomenal, we can't remember the last time we had left a restaurant with big smiles on our faces and extremely satisfied stomachs, we also couldn't stop talking about it once we left.

We cannot wait to go again, if you want to take a look at their website go to this link www.mercato.ae and if you want to view more photos and reviews from Mercato visit Mercato on Zomato.
The brunch menu isn't available on Zomato but we recommend you check it out on Friday's or Saturday's. You can follow Mercato's instagram page here if you wish to see more mouth watering images.
